Step 1

On the release day of Fallout 4, I was sadly disappointed to find that my laptop wasn't capable of running the game. I looked up gaming computers, and found they cost nearly $2,000. I wasn't able to afford this, so I used my Christmas money to buy the parts to build my own gaming PC, which could run the game at a purchase price of $425. But not only could it run the game, it could run it fast! I now achieve an average of 60 FPS while playing the game at max settings. It was then I knew that building a PC was a great choice! Firstly, before starting anything, you need to research your parts.

These are the parts I used for my build:

  • Anti-Static materials (Gloves, Mat, Bracelet (Optional, highly recommended)) Buy: $18 Mat, $6 Bracelet

  • Extras: USB hub, Adapters (may be needed), screwdriver, heat sink (if needed), monitor (if needed), Operating System, Input/Output shield (if wanted)

  • Gaming Extras: Controller (Steam controller or Logitech F310/710), Steam controller $50.00 Buy.

  • Gaming software (Steam) Fallout 4, as mentioned above,  is available on Steam for $60.00.

Important Notes: Make sure all parts are compatible. (Don't buy a laptop hard drive for a desktop computer.)

Find the best deal, look for any last minute deals to see if you can get any part for less, and be sure to check the seller reliability before your purchase!
